LFJ and its partners celebrated the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. As the first Black woman to ever be nominated to the high court, we applaud President Biden for fulfilling his promise to make the nation’s highest court more diverse and representative of the nation.

OUR LETTER TO SENATORS

On March 8, 2022, Latinos for a Fair Judiciary and our partners sent a letter to U.S. Senators to urge them to ensure that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has the opportunity to further elaborate on her demonstrated commitment to advancing racial and social equity during their proceedings. Latinos for a Fair Judiciary and our partners were pleased to see that President Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as Associate Justice to the U.S. Supreme Court. Through her service in lower federal courts and at the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Judge Brown Jackson has demonstrated her expertise and diverse lived experience on a myriad of legal issues that affect Black, Latino, and other communities of color alike.
