#LatinosontheBench

Our nation has a historic opportunity to make a clean break with a centuries-old legal tradition that excludes Latinos and other underrepresented groups in this country and mitigate the harm caused by President Trump’s unabashedly partisan, mostly white, and too often unqualified judicial appointments. We're fighting to grow the bench of Latino federal judges to help ensure that the legal decisions that shape our society recognize the reality of many of those who live in it.

Past Campaigns

#JusticeForAll

With the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court, we call on a fair and civil confirmation process that allows Judge Jackson to have the opportunity to elaborate on her demonstrated commitment to advancing racial and social equity of legal areas of concern and priority that affect the ability of Latino communities to thrive.

#StopKavanaugh

During Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings, we amplified and organized grasstops and grassroots groups nationally, with a special emphasis in Arizona, Nevada and Florida. The aim was to ensure a Latinx point of view and presence in the national narrative and within the larger "SaveSCOTUS" coalition.

#BlockBarrett

With the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg the Latino community lost a civil rights warrior, a jurist who was fair and just, and supported access to equal justice. Because Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett presented devastating implications for Latinos, we engaged a broad coalition of Latino organizations during her confirmation process to urge Senators to oppose consideration of any nomination to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court until after the November 3, 2020 election.
